Fernanda Carvajal
Tennis Professional
Fernanda is an impressive athlete and scholar, having graduated from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) with a Major in General Psychology and a Minor in Coaching, Nutrition, and Sport Management. Her academic excellence earned her recognition as an ITA Tennis Scholar Athlete in both 2022 and 2024. Fernanda's tennis journey began in her junior years, where she ranked #1 nationally in Mexico for both the 16 and 18-year-old categories and attained an ITF (International) Junior ranking of 287.
During her collegiate career, Fernanda made significant contributions to her team, being named the SoCon Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2024 and receiving the SoCon Pinnacle Award the same year. This prestigious award goes to the student-athlete that has the highest GPA on the championship/winning team. She excelled in singles and doubles, earning numerous awards throughout her college career as well as a notable ITF professional ranking of 860.
Most recently, Fernanda worked for two summers as a tennis professional at Redding Country Club. Prior to that she coached juniors for several years in both Mexico and the US.
Her teaching style emphasizes mastering fundamental techniques while integrating strategic decision making into gameplay. She strives to optimize each player's development and performance on the court and enjoys working with both adults and juniors.
